Scope
This code applies to everyone taking part in a FrontierMeet conference or activity: delegates, presenters, session chairs, reviewers, committee members, organisers, supporters, exhibitors, contractors and guests. It applies at the venue, at associated social events, in online spaces run by FrontierMeet and in communication connected to the conferences, including email and social media.
Respect
FrontierMeet brings together people from many countries, disciplines, institutions and career stages. We expect everyone to treat one another with courtesy and professional respect, to listen as readily as they speak, and to disagree about ideas without disparaging people.
Questions after presentations should be put to the work, not the person. Chairs are empowered to moderate discussion and to close a line of questioning that has stopped being about the research.
Inclusion
We are committed to a conference in which people participate fully regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, nationality, neurotype, physical appearance, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background or career stage.
Accessibility requirements can be raised with Conference Operations before or during the event. We will do what we reasonably can to meet them and will say plainly if we cannot.
Unacceptable behaviour
Harassment of any kind is not tolerated. This includes offensive comments related to any characteristic listed above; sexual language or imagery in talks, posters or conversation; deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; unwanted photography or recording; sustained disruption of sessions; unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention; and advocating for or encouraging any of these.
Participants asked to stop any behaviour are expected to comply immediately.
Scientific integrity
Submitted and presented work must be the authors' own, must accurately describe its methods, data and results, and must properly credit prior work. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, undisclosed duplicate submission and misrepresentation of authorship are breaches of this code.
Reviewers and panel members must keep submissions confidential, evaluate them against the published criteria, and declare any conflict of interest. A declared conflict removes the reviewer from that decision.
Presenters should state funding sources and material competing interests where they are relevant to the work presented.
Reporting a concern
If you experience or witness behaviour that breaches this code, you can report it to any member of Conference Operations, identifiable on the day, or by email to contact@frontiermeet.com. Reports may be made during or after the conference. You may bring someone with you when making a report.
Reports are handled by Conference Operations with the relevant Scientific Programme Committee where scientific integrity is concerned. We will treat reports seriously and as confidentially as the situation allows, and we will tell you what happens next.
Consequences
Where this code is breached, FrontierMeet may take any action it considers appropriate, including a warning, exclusion from a session or from the remainder of the conference without refund, withdrawal of a presentation or recognition, and exclusion from future FrontierMeet activity. Serious matters may be referred to the venue or to law enforcement.
Changes to this code
This code may be revised before the 2027 conferences. The version in force on the day will be the version published on this page, and any material changes will be noted here.
